The Design Skills website explores key skills many designers use everyday. The site can be used as a one stop information and resource centre for people who would like to reinforce or complement the teaching they already receive, people who would like to teach themselves new skills or those who would like to enter a design profession and are looking gain a better understanding of what it may involve.

The Skills Store complements the information found on the site and this is where in depth training and resources on specific subjects can be accessed in e-book format available for download.

About the author

Valerie Mace trained in interior design, space management and visual communication for the commercial and public sector and worked initially as a graphic and interior design consultant. She is now the Creative Director of Panacentric, a UK design and marketing consultancy.

She has worked on varied projects: interior and graphic design in the leisure, hospitality, exhibition, health and residential sectors, and website concepts and graphics. She also teaches on design courses at the London College of Communication and short CAD courses at Chelsea College of Art and Design, both part of the University of the Arts London.
